Feeding our Neighbours during the COVID-19 Pandemic
We have increased our response to emergency need and their network of non-profit organizations and committed volunteers are working harder than ever to help our neighbors in need. We have doubled down on our operations to meet the new challenges and remain focused on our primary mission to collect and distribute food to those who need it most in our community.
The challenges will continue. Along with our food bank colleagues from across Canada, Feed the Need in Durham is very concerned about the medium- and long-term impacts that COVID-19 and the associated economic downturn will have on the lives and livelihood of members of our community. Even as we work with our network to respond to the emergency needs of our community, we are planning for our ongoing response to the growing and significant needs of our community over the next 6 – 24 months. All of our work and investments in our capacity today, will lay the foundation for our ability to respond to hunger in the challenging months ahead.
